Over the years we have welcomed a range of corporate groups…
“An excellent team building day, enjoyable from start to finish.”
“A thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding day. Great support from the people on site and I’ve really got to know many of my colleagues much better.”
“Great day and really fun. Very rewarding to see the progress and how it will benefit the community. It would be great to be able to come back and help again! Great for team work. Highly recommended!”
Five A Day Market Garden offers a professional, friendly and innovative team building experience to corporate businesses within the beautiful setting of the Englefield Estate.
Why do it?
Team building days are great opportunities for businesses to get the best out of their employees by:
improving morale and motivation
fostering team spirit and group working
developing leadership skills.
Just as important, our team building days are great fun, and it’s always good to have a day out of the office! More and more companies are demonstrating their corporate social responsibilities by volunteering for local projects and helping the local community.
What can we offer?
At Five A Day Market Garden, corporate groups are typically given a choice of gardening / D.I.Y / or conservation projects. For example, you might choose to construct a raised gardening bed, or create a wildlife area. We can also introduce a fun element to the day with activities such as fire making (without using matches or lighters)! and environmental art.
We can accommodate groups for a half day or full day. Dates and times are are very flexible, so please get in touch to discuss further. Ample parking is available and we are in a very accessible location: just a ten minute drive from junction 12 of the M4. All necessary insurances, health and safety and risk assessments are in place to ensure a smooth running day. We can arrange lunch from our local tea room as well!
What do we ask from you?
All we ask from you is a contribution towards the costs of materials and / or tools used on the day, plus a donation to Five A Day Market Garden. This will usually be about £20 per person. We are a not-for-profit community project so you can be assured that your financial input helps us to offer greater opportunities to the more disadvantaged groups in society.
A visit beforehand is recommended to discuss ideas. For more information, contact us.
We want to create a sculpture trail through the garden using environmental art and nature! This is a task for a group looking for a day with a difference! Examples of possible sculptures include giant willow dragonflies and butterflies, a ceramic apple mosaic and a green turf sofa!
D.I.Y enthusiasts look no further! We want to get even greener by building an attractive recycling area to encourage our visitors to recycle their paper, plastic and compostable materials.
We sell naturally grown fruit and vegetables to the local community. We want to create an attractive sales area with a seating area for our lovely customers!
For a group who want to get fit! We want to add wood chip to our soft fruit areas to retain water in the soil, reduce weeds and increase the attractiveness of the fruit areas! Lots of energy required for this task!
Help us to improve our water conservation! We want to fit guttering to our sheds and polytunnels and purchase water butts and tanks to collect rain water.
